Wisdom – Study #1
The Treasure that is Wisdom – Proverbs 3
Have you ever wished you were smarter? Wiser? Most people have. “Hindsight is always 20/20” so goes the popular quip. “If only I’d have known” or “I should have seen that coming,” we say. Some things we “miss” are not that consequential. Other matters along life’s path are BIG. With such things, better to “measure twice and cut once” rather than “measure once and cut twice.”
The Father God who made us and knows us (cf. Psalm 139:1-6) offers us a “measure twice, cut once” resource. It’s called WISDOM, and true, timely wisdom comes from Him; specifically, His Son (His Incarnate Word) and His Word (His written word). Highlighted this week–God’s wisdom is abundantly available.

Let’s get STARTED – Talk together about the BIG things that truly need God’s “measure twice, cut once” wisdom. What 5 things populate your list? Discuss your choices.

Let’s Explore in the WORD – In our first Connect Group Study, let’s survey the landscape we will be covering in the next 6 weeks of teaching, from Proverbs 3:1-12. Looking at each “couplet,” do two things. First, what “wisdom” is offered here (summarize the principle being taught)? And second, what other Scripture passages echo this same wisdom. Have fun!
