EHP Day 24-In the Tent of Meeting Part 4
Exodus 34:29-30, 34-35
When Moses came down from Mount Sinai…he did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, and behold the skin of his face shone…Whenever Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he would remove the veil, until he came out. And when he came out and told the people of Israel what he was commanded, the people of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face was shining. And Moses would put the veil over his face again, until he went in to speak with Him.
The glory of God can indeed transform the way a person looks. It can empower when a person shares what he/she hears from God. Jesus looked very normal to those who followed Him until…well, until those moments on a mountain in Galilee.
Matt. 17:2 And Jesus was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.
Wow! Really?
Undoubtedly, God so uniquely brightened Moses’ face so that the people would have visible assurance that Moses had been with God, that what Moses was saying was indeed from God. Paul tells us that Moses veiled his face when with the people, after sharing God’s commands, so that they would not see the shining gradually dimming. Only face-to-face time with God could renew the glory.
Paul also tells us that today, “we all” are invited into this enlightening tent.
2 Cor. 3:18 We all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image, from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Wow! Really? Time beholding God’s glory, taking in His revelation, face-to-face, can transform me into His image? Yes, yes indeed.
