As we walk through our podcast series on Theology and Worldview, we wanted to offer a few resources to you as you engage in discussion with your kids. We believe conversations around theology are vital to have with your child as they are forming and developing.

Books to Check Out:

Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics Every Christian Should Know by Wayne Grudem: As VERY digestible guide to some of the big questions young people have about faith. Great to walk through with a late-middle or high schooler as they ask big questions about God, the Trinity, justification, sanctification, the church, angels, demons and more.

Talking with Your Kids about God by Natasha Crain: A question by question walkthrough for how to talk to your kids about 1) the existence of God, 2) Science and God, 3) The Nature of God, 4) Believing in God, 5) The Difference God Makes. This book is a helpful touch and go resource or one to be read through. Helpful for conversations with little kids all the way to high school and very practical as you engage in real life with your kids.

Mama Bear Apologetics by Hillary Morgan Ferrer: a book full of explanations and tools to combat lies and worldviews woven into everything, from social media posts to political ideology. Not just for moms (though it is the audience), this book breaks down the questions your kids have, will have, or don’t even realize they have and gives practical and real life language to identifying and cultivating a Christian worldview in your home.

So the Next Generation Will Know by Sean McDowell: With a heart for young people, Sean McDowell approaches what it looks like to equip and train our kids to know and live passionately for truth. Offers tools for helping students identify the brokenness of culture while also engaging in love the world they are in.

Growing With by Kara Powell: a book on a wide variety of things including how to develop healthy conversations around doubt and theology as kids grow up

10 minute Bible HourA quick and fun podcast that breaks down scripture every weekday morning. Meant to encourage understanding of scripture. May be a fun one to check out with your teen!

Think Biblically Podcast: A weekly podcast that offers Christian perspectives on some of the most significant issues facing today’s church and culture. Ask NT Wright:  NT Wright is one of the world’s leading New Testament scholars and the author of many academic and lay level books. He walks through theology as well as worldview questions every other week on his podcast.
Unbelievable?: Engages in fundamental questions on Christianity with the intention to openly discuss different opinions between Christians and non-believers.

The Alisa Childers Podcast: “Helping you answer Progressive Christianity and skeptical claims against the gospel from a biblical worldview”. Episodes on a multitude of topics with many guest speakers designed to answer specific questions.
