Joy Leads to Thankfulness (Including a special note from Pastor David and Pamela)

Kyle Bartholic   -

Let’s continue our conversation on the stability of joy. One of the powerfully important ways that joy impacts our lives is that it positions our hearts into a posture of thankfulness. Remember, we defined joy as lasting contentment and a sense of security and identity. This ultimately comes through our relationship with Christ.

that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete. (1 Jn. 1:3-4)

When we are set free from the requirement of performance to fulfill our desires or construct our sense of completeness, we are free to rest and live in the stability of joy. One way we can know that our joy is being made complete is through a thankful heart. And ultimately, a thankful heart is one that puts others first. For so many years, we have seen Pastor David and Pamela do just that, put others first. And, ultimately, his good leadership was reflective of the body as a whole. Personally, I am thankful for and love this about our church; we put others first. Below is a note of deep thanks and gratitude to this body from Pastor David and Pamela.

Let’s continue leaning into joy, living with thankful hearts, and being a blessing to those around us.

Dear Christ Community Church family,

It would be difficult at best to remember a time when we were so personally blessed and uplifted as what occurred over the weekend of May 28-30.  In a good way, Pamela and I are still reeling from all of your kindnesses and encouragement.  Thank you…thank you from the depths of our hearts.  We could not feel more loved by a people than what all of you offered to the Lord, and He passed it all along to us.

In the timing of the Lord, even as we were celebrating His goodness on that final Sunday, our home was being courted, and is now presently “under contract.”  A young family from out-of-state may be the residents of the house we have loved and lived in since 1994.  There are more T’s to cross and I’s to dot, but it may well be that our move west to Colorado will occur sometime in mid-July.  So many of you have told us how faithfully you have been praying for us.  Once again, we are debtors of your love.

For those who wish to keep in touch, we will provide the CCC church office future contact information as we land out west.  If you’d like to stay in touch and find out where we land, click the button below to send us an email and we’ll give you are personal email and phone number.

We love you all, and you will be deeply missed.  We feel it already.  But the Lord will be faithful and his grace will sustain our days ahead.

With affection and gratitude,

Pastor David and Pamela (Staff)
