Worship Wednesday: Peace, Be Still
What is one of your life songs? I have always loved this question, particularly as a worship leader. It gets past surface-level questions about a profession or the weather and reveals something about the heart. Often, the answer is connected to a life-defining circumstance or season; A moment where the reality and the nearness of Christ were made unshakably evident.
One of mine came on the radio this morning. “Peace Be Still” by Lauren Daigle was the song God planted in my head during the challenging hours of my daughter’s birth. I knew it was Him speaking to me because it was not a song to which I typically turned or had been listening. Yet there it was, speaking the words of Christ to my worried heart exactly when I needed it most. To this day, it stands as an Ebenezer of God’s faithfulness. What is one of your life songs? As you walk through the rest of this week, why not pause and remember? Let’s selah with one of our life songs and give thanks to the Lord. As you do, I invite you to join me in praying that God would use the songs we lead this Sunday to plant monuments of His faithfulness in the hearts of those we lead.
