I See a Place

Chris Akers   -

All through the OT, we get the sense that God’s people were to live in a way that was distinctly different from the prevailing cultures around them. This distinctive life wasn’t for their fame or glory. It was for God’s glory alone. It was to demonstrate that there is a better way to live life. And God’s people were never to keep that hope a secret. Instead, it was and is available to all. As we consider what it means and looks like to be exiles, foreigners, and sojourners in this age, we need to ask is, are we living lives that smell of the aroma of God’s love and forgiveness and encourage others to seek the hope of Jesus? Recently, pastor Chris wrote a song that described the hope-filled reality we find in Jesus.

I see a place where the wanderers come home
I see a place where the broken are made whole
Covered in grace, fully loved and fully known
I see a place where the tender heart of Christ is fully shown

And I see a house full of hope, full of miracles
I see a house of freedom
I see a house where the hungry are Spirit-filled
Open the doors and let the Living Word get out

This is a place where the presence of the King
Fills everyone for extraordinary things
This is a place where we see His Kingdom come
This is a place where our passion is to see His will be done

And I see a house full of hope, full of miracles
I see a house of freedom
I see a house where the hungry are Spirit-filled
Open the doors and let the Living Word get out

There’s a house full of hope, full of miracles
I see a house of freedom
I see a house where the hungry are Spirit-filled
Open the doors and let the Living Word get out

Lord, let this be Your house
Lord, let this be Your house

And I see a house full of hope, full of miracles
I see a house of freedom
I see a house where the hungry are Spirit-filled
Open the doors and let the Living Word get out

There’s a house full of hope, full of miracles
I see a house of freedom
I see a house where the hungry are Spirit-filled
Open the doors and let the Living Word get out
