Serve News…
Over the month of November we will have several leaders in our community coming into discuss issues facing many in Ames. Join us for Local Matters: a four week awareness and next steps class discussing our community’s challenges in the areas of housing insecurity, unplanned or crisis pregnancy, sex trafficking, and resource insecurity. Sundays at 10:45 in Gather 2, we will be gathering after the Classic Service on November 5, 12, 19, and 26. Ames and Story County is a great place to live. So great, in fact, that it can be easy to imagine real, immediate challenges as “out there” somewhere. While our share of these struggles doesn’t look quite the same as places we see and hear about all the time, they are still here. And very real for those facing them. Our address is no accident. God’s call to care for our neighbors is most clearly seen within our own zip codes.
Something to Think About…
In August, Hope in Christ held an event handing out over 800 backpacks to kids in Ames! Check out the video below for a recap of the event.
