We Are Not The Same… The resurrection has changed us!
One of the wonderful truths of Christianity is this because Jesus defeated death in the resurrection; our lives do not have to be the same. We are not confined to sin or condemned to death any longer! We heard it this last Sunday; Paul told us in Galatians 5, before life in Jesus, we were defined by the works of the flesh, now for those in Christ, who are filled with the Spirit, we are to be defined by the fruit of the Spirit… Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. And frankly, that list is what our world is desperately yearning for. So, let’s not be silent about the truth that in Jesus, these characteristics and actions aren’t just possible, but they are woven into our new identity.
This Sunday (9/12), we are going to host our Inspire Sunday and All-Church Family Picnic. I hope that you will join us for that this week. Take a minute to listen to this week’s update in a short video encouragement. In it, I introduce what we’re going to learn this Sunday in Acts and highlight the picnic. Let’s keep making much of Jesus together!
