Church Database Transition
We’re switching our church database in the next 30 days. Here’s why, some quick FAQs, and an invite to a pre-congregational meeting preview on Sunday 8/16.
Simply put, Christ Community Church uses data to help foster our mission: connecting people to life-defining relationships in Christ. Contact info, giving records, ministry involvement, secure check-ins for kids—to name just a few—are all pieces of information helping us stay in touch with you and your relationship with Christ.
As you can imagine, these kinds of tools are always growing and changing. While our former database served us well, there is a new generation of applications becoming ever-better suited to the needs of ministry for churches just like ours.
What is the new tool?
Planning Center Online is a suite of ministry tools that covers the range of basic info, volunteering, giving, group life, events registration and payments, and secure check-ins for children’s ministry.
When is this happening?
We’re currently migrating data from the old system into Planning Center and plan to have made the switch (data, staff training, congregational orientation) completely by mid-September.
Do I need to do anything?
Not at this time. We’ll keep you informed of the progress and any steps you will need to take, especially as we switch over to the new giving platform in the next few weeks. At that time we’ll send you step-by-step instructions on how to close your current account and set up your new account through Planning Center Giving.
Will this include a church directory?
Planning Center has just released (8/5) the option to publish a digital directory. No one is added to this directory without their approval, so there will be a process, likely in September, where we walk you through making your info available (if desired), and how to access the directory.
Please join us for a 45-minute overview session and questions and answers before the membership mtg, Sunday 8/16 from 3:30-4:15pm. You can register here.
