Mid-Winter Member Huddle

David Staff   -

I’ve spent the better part of today writing letters to so many in our Christ Community Church family who have encouraged us recently with their faithfulness, their prayers, and their giving.  This body of believers has shone brightly with a love for Christ that is truly astounding, despite the threat of COVID and in the face of many personal challenges.

To see fellow disciples trust the Lord Jesus in the most difficult circumstances, to see an increasing number decide to lay up for themselves treasures in heaven, to see young people stepping forward in baptism, to see a hunger for the Lord’s presence and His life-giving word—all of that is an incredible blessing.

Way to run well, fellow disciples!  Way to connect in life-defining relationships!  Way to pray for those lost around you and seek their good through God’s love!  You all are amazing.

TIME FOR THE CORE TO HUDDLE

Every 60–90 days or so, we ask our members to invest 90 minutes on late Sunday afternoons.  Quarterly membership meetings (not a member?) are important times to celebrate God’s goodness, make important decisions, and pray for our Lord Jesus to pour out even more of His grace through us.

This we will do this Sunday afternoon (January 31) at 4:30 PM.  If you are a member, please join us in person (G1) or on-line.  Non-members are invited to come or tune in to know better how the Spirit leads us to operate.

Our important actions will include celebrating the leadership God has given us through Brad Heemstra and Scott Beckwith (finishing terms on the Missional Leadership Board) while voting on Jim Ryken and Stuart Helming to step into their shoes.

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING

We designated January as our prayer month, beginning both a new year and a new decade.  We’ve been asking you to pray for 10 minutes daily in the following ways:

  • Week 1     For personal repentance
  • Week 2     For an energized unity within the Christ Community Church family/team
  • Week 3     For the Holy Spirit to empower our pastoral leadership transition
  • Week 4     For a fresh season of fruitfulness and impact in our community as a church

Our Membership meeting will finish in worship and cap off this prayer month.  Another reason to join in.

As the pastoral transition continues to take place over the next 4 months, we desire that the Lord Jesus be lifted up even higher, that His gospel gain a new hearing in our region.  Thank you for your faithfulness, and we’ll see you Sunday morning (!) and afternoon.
