Since coming to Ames in 1993, David Staff serves Christ Community Church as Lead Pastor. His ministry includes regular Gather worship teaching, mission and vision direction, and overall responsibility for CCC’s staff team.
Trusting Christ as a 9-year-old, his young faith in Christ was nurtured by his Christian parents, as well as those who followed Jesus together at Calvary Memorial Church in Racine, Wisconsin. As a teen, he was called to ministry by the Spirit of God while doing small town evangelism on a summer youth missions trip in Canada. A 1975 graduate of Grace College (Winona Lake, IN), David received his theological and leadership training at Dallas Seminary (Th.M., 1980, D.Min, 1993). David holds a credential of ordination from the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), and has served in pastoral ministry in churches in Indiana, North Dakota, Colorado, and currently in Ames.
He and Pamela have been married for 40+ years. After a career in Elementary Education, Pamela continues to substitute teach at Gilbert Schools, while serving in CCC’s worship and children’s ministry. Their married children—Cameron (Janelle) and Briana (Joshua)—have made them grandparents 6 times over!
“On its new campus with a fresh mission and simple strategy, Christ Community Church has been given a unique local impact as well as a great, worldwide stewardship. The growing Spirit-provided opportunities are so remarkable. I love our Body’s commitment to connecting people in relationships which redefine their lives in Christ. It is the transparent, responsive people in this church team who love Christ which makes serving here an incredible joy.”
